Our goal is to offer the gardener interested in wildlife a comprehensive selection of plants that provide food and shelter for animals. Gardens designed specifically for the enhancement of wildlife habitat often teem with resident and migrant species. And because ecological connections are weblike, the enhancement of habitat for a certain group of species will usually result in unexpected participants exploiting unforeseen niches within the new environment. In similar fashion, many of the plants we offer are excellent seed producers, providing food resources for many different animals. Plentiful seed crops often result in seedlings, which, when allowed to grow in likely spots, give the garden a life of its own, in which plants become mobile and placement is designed by environment. These unexpected species and evolving designs add the element of mystery to the garden, providing us with space to delight in the spontaneous complexity of nature.
